About the Africa-Caribbean Nursing Continuum Program (ACNCP)
The Africa-Caribbean Nursing Continuum Program (ACNCP) is a three-year initiative funded through the Foreign Credential Recognition Program (FCRP). It is designed to support internationally educated nurses (IENs) of African Caribbean descent in navigating the licensure and integration process within the Canadian healthcare system.
Health Associations of African Canadians (HAAC) will improve the integration into the Canadian labour market of internationally educated nurses (IENs) by providing licensure information, financial assistance, and mentorship opportunities to newcomer nurses primarily in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. Its broader goal is to reduce systemic barriers, promote equitable access to nursing opportunities, and strengthen representation and diversity within Canada’s healthcare workforce. The project will primarily target nurses of African and Caribbean descent in Atlantic Canada, but also in cities with a large population of persons of African Caribbean descent, such as Toronto, Calgary and Montreal.
