HAAC Duane Winter Memorial Scholarship Application

Scholarship Objective:

To assist full and part-time students of African Ancestry who are attending a recognized college or University in their pursuit of a career in the helping professions.

Eligibility Requirement:

Priority will be given to those students who:

  • Identify as African Nova Scotian/Black/African Ancestry
  • Attending any college/university in North America
  • Prove unmet financial need with an attached, itemized budget
  • Show dedication to learning, good moral character, and commitment to helping others
  • Are Canadian citizens, permanent residents, international students, or have refugee status

Application 1 Deadline:

The deadline for the application is February 28, 2025.

Application Process:

  1. Bursaries will be awarded to applicants with the highest scores based on our scoring rubric.
  1. The amount of each Scholarship is $1000.00.
  1. Successful applicants will be notified in March 2025.
